Underperforming Man United star ‘happy’ at Old Trafford despite links elsewhere

Marcus Rashford does not intend to leave Manchester United anytime soon.

The winger has been linked with a surprise move to Paris Saint-Germain both historically and again recently. Set to lose Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe at the end of the season, the Ligue 1 giants are working on possible replacements, and according to reports, have included Rashford.

However, despite enduring one of his worst-ever campaigns, Rashford, 26, is in no rush to leave Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford ‘happy’ at Manchester United

According to transfer journalist Ben Jacobs, the 26-year-old remains ‘happy’ with life at Old Trafford and is unlikely to leave any time soon.

“No, I don’t think Manchester United should be concerned because Marcus Rashford has indicated that he’s happy at United,” he told GiveMeSport.

“It’s believed he’s very excited by this new INEOS-led project and to be a big part of that and to ultimately recapture his form from last season when he was on fire.”

PSG feeling ‘used’ by previous talks with winger

Going on to discuss Paris Saint-Germain’s stance on signing the England international, Jacobs added: “The situation with PSG is that Rashford, as I revealed a few weeks back, is on the PSG list, and has obviously been a historical target as of 2022.

But in the most recent contacts between the Rashford camp and PSG, prior to Rashford extending his Manchester United contract, PSG felt they were being used as part of a game for leverage to get Rashford the best possible terms at Old Trafford.”

With his contract not set to expire until 2028, it seems almost impossible to imagine the winger leaving Manchester. However, fans, although continuing to back their academy graduate, will be demanding his performances start improving soon.

Having scored just five Premier League goals so far this season, the number 10 is far from at his best, and should his poor form continue, could be left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for this summer’s Euros.
