Arsenal ‘main candidates’ to make shock swoop for Chelsea winger

Mykhaylo Mudryk is on course to be one of the Premier League’s biggest disappointments.

The Ukrainian winger, who joined the Blues from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer in a deal worth a staggering £88.5 million (Sky Sports), has endured an abysmal opening season at Stamford Bridge.

Despite being given multiple opportunities to impress, the 22-year-old has managed just four goals in 26 appearances in all competitions; numbers falling way short of what was expected of him.

Consequently, recently falling out of favour with Mauricio Pochettino, Mudryk has lost his place to the likes of Raheem Sterling and striker Nicolas Jackson; both of whom have made starts on the right-flank.

And while the Blues will be desperate to see the Ukraine international turn it around, his disastrous form is becoming a huge cause for concern.

Arsenal ‘main candidates’ to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk

According to a recent report from Fichajes, Chelsea are so disappointed in their near-£100 million star that they’re ‘considering options’ ahead of next season. A loan move is looking the likeliest outcome at the moment, but a permanent sale has not been ruled out.

Interestingly, while Juventus remain interested in offering the out-of-form winger a route out of his Stamford Bridge nightmare, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are also credited with having a strong interest.

Arsenal came agonisingly close to signing Mudryk before he agreed to a move to Chelsea, and if these latest reports are anything to go by, the Gunners, who have been described as the saga’s ‘main candidates’ could try again for the attacker’s signature.

Arteta has a great record of improving players so although Mudryk will probably regret his decision to snub a move to the Emirates, he may be handed a second chance.

  1. I bet Arsenal want him ,we have some others who have underperformed they can have to go with all the other dross they have got from us over the years, perhaps they would like poch to

    1. He’s not worth 80 quid. We did a Neo from The Matrix. Why would we want him now. The journalist needs to stick to CBD.

    2. Thanks for Jorginho. Enzo is looking look a quality replacement. Not a complete waste of money at all 😂😂

    3. Yes, some of the past transfers from Chelsea have not worked out. However, the more recent signings – Havertz and Jorghino – are good players. I think that Mudryk would do a lot better at the Emirates; shame that he’s lost a year at Chelsea.

    4. yeah we got Jorginho for £11m you replaced with Caicedo for £105m. How did that work out for you? We’ll take him and improve him for £20m.
You’ve spent £1.2bn on players who are now worth about £350m and you have a worse team than before Toddli took over! Ha! Ha! and you’re about to breach FFP and will need to do a fire sale to sign anyone in the summer.

  2. Mudryk and Shaktar Donetsk went for money and greed has attendant consequences. If they let him go for £20m, then Edu can go for him. Otherwise, Arsenal are ok with Trossard, who is versatile across attacking lines. Besides, Arsenal can tap into the summer market which is more vibrant.
