It’s going to be all change for Liverpool this summer, with Jurgen Klopp leaving behind a huge void at Anfield, and the powers that be trying desperately to bring ex-sporting director, Michael Edwards, back to the club.
The pair were something of a dream team during the glory years of Klopp’s tenure, and Edwards must surely take his fair share of the credit for that.

Liverpool owners, FSG, need to ensure that a new regime is in place well before the start of next season, and to that end it’s believed that Edwards is being sought out again for his unparalleled expertise.
However, as Mirror Sport note, there’s a huge stumbling block that’s likely to prevent that from happening.
They note that for Edwards to even consider returning to a club where he spent 10 successful years before leaving in 2022, he would want complete control.
With the board perhaps understandably reluctant to allow the same, it means a move for Bournemouth’s technical director, Richard Hughes, is far more likely.
Clearly, Liverpool need to move quickly for whomever they choose, because they will need to be in place along with a new manager before any real plans for the 2024/25 season can be made.
Owner, John Henry, has shown a willingness to be guided by those who are best-in-class in their respective fields, rather than foisting his own vision upon them, and that way of working is surely likely to appeal to whomever takes up the respective positions.
I’d prefer fresh blood, without demands. Yes he had on paper some good results. However most of them improved massively with Liverpools coaching and tactics.
