‘That is a concern’ – Eddie Howe delivers Kieran Trippier injury update

The Newcastle manager has revealed the extent of Kieran Trippier’s injury after the defender was forced off during his side’s 3-0 win against Wolves.

The Magpies put in a stellar performance to fend off Gary O’Neils Wolves side as they left St. James’ Park 3-0 winners.

Alexander Isak opened the scoring with a back post header before Anthony Gordon tapped in just before the break after a defensive blunder from Jose Sa.

Tino Livramento then wrapped up all three points with an incredible solo goal in injury time as Eddie Howe’s side kept themselves in the top half of the table.

The last thing the English manager needs right now is another injury headache and would’ve been devastated to see his talisman Trippier come off in the 52nd minute.

Speaking after the game, Howe revealed that the English defender had an issue with his calf.

“He felt something in his calf and had to come off the pitch,” he said via Newcastle World.

“That is a concern for us. I don’t know how serious it is.”

After their 4-1 hammering against Arsenal last weekend, a statement victory against an in-form Wolves side is just what Newcastle needed as they approach the business end of the season.
