The future of David Moyes is still uncertain with the end of the current season just weeks away and it is being reported that West Ham have put Lille’s Paulo Fonseca at the top of their managerial shortlist.
Overall, Moyes has done a great job at the East London club and delivered the Hammers the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, which ultimately saved him from the sack.
Things have been better in the Premier League this term but fans of the Hammers feel they can do better with the talent they have in their squad and the supporters do not desire the Scottish coach’s style of play.
As West Ham prepare for their Europa League quarter-final clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday, Moyes’ future is still uncertain and reports are now saying that the London club have identified Lille’s Paulo Fonseca as the successor to their current coach.

Fonseca tops West Ham’s shortlist to replace Moyes ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, should the Hammers choose to part ways with their manager at the end of the season, reports inews.
The Hammers board are said to be long-term admirers of the 51-year-old and even made contact with the Lille boss last summer, before deciding to stick with Moyes for another season.
West Ham fans would be happy with this appointment as Fonseca’s teams are an exciting watch which Lille have shown this season being behind only Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain with the most goals scored in France.
The 51-year-old is a very popular coach and is also wanted by Marseille and Lyon, reports inews.
Fonseca has worked with plenty of clubs in the past, winning three league titles in Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk, while also winning the Portuguese Cup with Sporting Braga.
It remains to be seen if West Ham make a move for Fonseca but it is clear that the London club hold him in high regard.
