England get their Euro 2024 campaign underway on Sunday night against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen as Gareth Southgate’s men look to send a warning sign to the rest of the tournament.

The Three Lions are the favourites to win the Euros this summer in Germany as the current England squad is one of the most talented the nation has ever seen. Southgate’s men were beaten finalists at Euro 2020 and will hope to go one better this time around.

There are mixed thoughts on England ahead of their tournament getting underway as fans are very confident given the squad they have, but the defeat in their final pre-tournament friendly with Iceland has cast some doubt.

Southgate’s starting 11 for Serbia once again highlights how strong the Three Lions are with the 53-year-old going with the following team: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Guehi, Trippier; Alexander-Arnold, Rice; Saka, Bellingham, Foden; Kane

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been chosen to operate in midfield, which will excite England fans given his creative talents.

As for Serbia, Dragan Stojkovic’s side are expected to get through Group C alongside England and a result over the Three Lions would be huge for the Serbians as it would put them on course to top their group.

There are some very talented players in their squad and they were also victorious last time out as they beat Sweden 3-0. Serbia finished second in a weak qualifying group to get to Euro 2024, which shows that there is not anything exceptional about Stojkovic’s team.

The 59-year-old has selected the following team for their encounter with England as the Serbians look to cause a big upset in Gelsenkirchen: Rajkovic, Veljkovic, Milenkovic, Pavlovic, Gudelj, Lukic, Sergej, Zivkovic, Kostic, Vlahovic, Mitrovic.
