Enzo Maresca will go head-to-head with Manchester United over the possible transfer of forward Samu Omorodion.

This isn’t the first time the 20-year-old has been linked with a high-profile transfer to Stamford Bridge.

The summer transfer window saw the Blues come within touching distance of landing the Spanish forward before he moved from Atletico Madrid to Porto.

Tensions brewing! — Chelsea and Liverpool are set to go head-to-head to sign this midfielder.

Although the striker failed to make a senior appearance under Diego Simeone, his profile has risen in recent months following an impressive breakthrough under Vitor Bruno. Samu already has 11 goals in 11 games under his belt, including four in the Europa League.

Samu Omorodion back on Chelsea’s radar

It is for this reason Fichajes claim the youngster remains on Chelsea’s radar despite their failure to sign him less than six months ago.

His performances in Portugal have also caught the attention of incoming Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, who will make signing a reliable number nine one of his top priorities once in charge of the Red Devils.

Samu has five years left on his contract and is valued around £40 million. However, given the wealth of the two clubs tracking him, fans will expect Porto to drive that price up.

The Melilla-born striker came through Granada’s youth academy before moving to Alaves where he scored eight goals in 35 games in all competitions.
