Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has made it clear that he wants to leave the club this summer.
With just over ten days left in the transfer window to shut down, he faces a race against time to seal a move away from St. James’ Park.
Liverpool have already seen their first bid get rejected for him but they remain seriously interested in signing him and are expected to make another offer soon.
Last night, Isak released a statement mentioning how promises have been broken by the Magpies.
In response, Newcastle United expressed how Isak’s statement has disappointed them.
Alexander Isak is involved in a power battle with Newcastle
The battle for power continues at Newcastle while Liverpool are playing the waiting game and watching it all unravel with keen interest. The striker has made up his mind to join Arne Slot’s Liverpool and he is determined to achieve this goal this summer.
The biggest mystery surrounding this transfer saga is why Isak has still not handed in a formal transfer request.
According to The Standard, Isak has avoided handing in a formal transfer request because it could have financial implications for him.
A transfer request is formalised through a legal document submitted by the player to their club, clearly stating their intention to leave. By doing so, the player is essentially declaring a willingness to breach the existing terms of their employment contract, which usually ties them to the club until a set date.
It carries serious financial and professional consequences. One of the biggest drawbacks for the player is the potential loss of lucrative contractual perks.
Isak faces financial hit if he submits a transfer request

These include signing-on bonuses, loyalty payments, or other incentive-based clauses that are only guaranteed if the player honours their contract in full.
By submitting a request to leave, they often forfeit these benefits, which can amount to millions of pounds depending on the player’s contract.
Beyond the financial implications, a transfer request can also affect the player’s relationship with the club and its supporters. However, in this case, it would hardly make a difference since the player has already burned bridges with the Toon Army.
A transfer request has still not formally come from Isak but it could only be a matter of time with the clock ticking and only over a week left for the transfer window to shut down.

So if this is true as always it comes down to money. I just hope the club holds its nerve and wins what is now a Mexican standoff.
Its ironic that we face the same situation with Wissa however we need to show transparency in that deal which i expect to go through.
As far as Isak is concerned he will go but only if we get at least !30 million and favourable payment terms as far as thats concerned its down to Liverpool.
And that should tell you everything needed. He wants away but won’t submit a transfer request as he doesn’t want to be held financially accounbtable for his demands.
Greedy selfish barsteward.
Not submitting a transfer request is concerning, to me it’s as if he is using LFC as a stick to beat Newcastle into giving him a new improved contract and he has no intention of coming to us. Now we are in the latter stages of the market, I would cut our losses, go to PSG and offer them Konate and 65m for Barcola and then get in Guehi
as a Liverpool supporters since the early 60 thesis we’ve been in this position ourselves with a few players to name but a few Luis Suraz to name one going on strike or whatever no footballer is ever bigger than the club they play for or Manger,s come to think about it ie Rafael Benetiz let’s get it sorted or just walk away Never Walk Alone thank you
Liverpool are our competitors in 4 competitions. There have been reports that contract terms have been agreed yet without an acceptable offer made for the player.
Outside the elevated world of Premier League football, many of us have experienced changes in work conditions and turnover of people in managerial positions with differences in aspirations, policies and outlook. If indeed this does relate to Staveley, she was a minority shareholder.
Mitchell was a different character. He had a good spell on gardening leave from Monaco. HIs track record can be debated but he has been a self publicist.
If Isak wants to go, let him submit his transfer request. We can then help him find a new home but NOT to a domestic competitor.
