The Saudi Pro League’s aggressive recruitment drive could soon set its sights on one of Manchester United’s biggest stars.
Reports emerging this week suggest that Al-Ittihad have opened dialogue with Bruno Fernandes over a possible transfer to the Middle East before the close of the current window.
This is not the first time the Portuguese playmaker has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia. Earlier in the summer, Fernandes was at the centre of a stunning package worth a staggering £200 million from Al-Hilal.
At the time, he opted to remain at Old Trafford, a decision influenced heavily by new manager Ruben Amorim, who made it clear that Fernandes was central to his long-term vision for the squad.

It wouldn’t be the end all if United let Fernandes go. He is not a midfielder and can’t play in the system that Amorim wants to play. We need to 2 all action midfielders who can win the ball back and press forward, and Fernandes loses the ball too much in midfield. If we could fetch 100m+ for a player close to 31 we should take it now.
Camavinga and Mainoo would make a great midfield, or Ederson. We should really think about selling him, especially if he wants it also. We need the money to build a strong team, and it may not be too long before Fernandes is burnt out, and the niggling injuries start to keep him out. He has served us well playing with freedom of the pitch, but Amorim’s system will not suit him.
