Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is open to leaving the club before the end of the summer transfer window, CaughtOffside understands.
The 20-year-old has long been regarded as a big talent coming through at Man Utd, but he’s fallen down the pecking order since Ruben Amorim took over as manager.
Sources with links to the agents industry have now informed CaughtOffside that there is the clear sense that Mainoo may need to leave Old Trafford to play regularly.
Chelsea and Tottenham are long-term admirers of Mainoo, while Leeds United are also emerging as new suitors to sign the England international on loan.
Kobbie Mainoo could leave Manchester United before the end of the summer

There seems to be a growing possibility for Mainoo to leave United before the end of the summer, though nothing is advanced with any club at the time of writing.
Still, one source stated that Mainoo could “formally request a transfer” in the coming days, whilst multiple sources were able to confirm that the player’s contract talks with the Red Devils had stalled.
It is not yet clear if Chelsea or Spurs will step up their interest in Mainoo as both clubs now seem to be focusing on other targets, but they could be teams to watch if it’s clear the youngster is available.
Kobbie Mainoo could also move abroad
Mainoo is open to a move abroad, CaughtOffside understands, as this has proven a good step in the development of a number of top English players in recent times.
Jude Bellingham is perhaps the best example of that, but others such as Jadon Sancho and Jamie Gittens have also done well to play more and develop during their younger years by leaving English football.
For now, however, the strongest interest is coming from Leeds as they eye Mainoo on loan, though it remains to be seen if a likely relegation struggle this season would be Mainoo’s preference when other options are likely to emerge.

If Utd force Kobbie out of the door this summer, I’m done with this club!
Forcing Mainoo, Garnacho out after having seen McTominay move and end up one of europes top midfielders shows me it is directors, management and coaching staff that are really the problem. Not the players.
It’s about time the Board showed they have balls, Amorim is the problem, get rid of his tunnel vision ego. He is putting his ineffective style before the Club, making him the focal point not the team’s results. He talks of Academy players but sends on a useless substitute in place of one of the recent Academy gems against Fulham. He is causing both the Club and the team to be a laughing stock.
Amorim is really turning the fans against him with the Mainoo situation. If he is really fighting for a place with Fernandes then he should have come on for him on Sunday, as he was one of the worst on the field.
We all thought that Amorim was the right one to bring us forward and win the Premier League in a few years, but his team selections and substitutions are very questionable, same as last season. He has got what he wants from Ineos, besides a new Midfielder and Goalkeeper which we believe to be on their way. If he doesn’t put things right quickly, he is facing a backlash from the fans with many already after turning against him because of the treatment of Mainoo and others, along with team selections and substitutions. You don’t bring on defenders when your looking for the winning goal.
THAT’S NOT THE UNITED WAY.
