It’s slightly hard to work out what’s going on with the Bradley Barcola to Liverpool transfer saga as David Ornstein has posted an interesting update.
We’ve reported in the last few days that Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain remain far apart in their valuation of Barcola, and there’s not much to suggest that that’s changing.
See below as Ornstein has posted about Liverpool seeking clarity on the situation, with key talks taking place yesterday to establish an understanding about the direction of travel…

Overall, it sounds like Liverpool are still really keen to make this happen, while Barcola himself is also committed to getting the move to Anfield.
However, it’s also not exactly encouraging, with further details in the Athletic‘s report making it clear that PSG want £145m for the 23-year-old, while LFC are looking to get a deal done for closer to £100m.
Can Liverpool and PSG reach a breakthrough on Bradley Barcola?
As things stand, it doesn’t sound like much has changed despite this saga dragging on for weeks now, so what happens next?

Our information has been that Arsenal could still come back into the picture, so Liverpool might want to get a move on and pay up to land the world class winger signing they so urgently need.
At the same time, it’s also hard not to see £145m for Barcola as crazy money, even in this inflated market.
The France international is not a regular starter for PSG and there’s no telling how he’d adapt to playing in a far more competitive league.
Chelsea paid less for Morgan Rogers, who stood out at Aston Villa, indicating that he could surely make the step up to playing for one of the big six clubs.
Barcola would be more of a gamble, so perhaps Liverpool would be better off sticking to their valuation, or to simply be patient and hope that PSG’s asking price for a want-away player drops closer to the end of the window.

It is simple – LFC miss out on the really good players at the right price/and for some reason want to chase over rated and over priced players like Barcola…at the same time burying their heads in the sand on problem areas that they need to cover.
Prediction – if LFC do not buy a true number six to cover up the Route 66 Highway that has been exploited by good structures (for 3 years now) they play against they will be lucky to finish in the top 8. I do not buy the story that Ariola thinks the people we have now are adequate/why did he not play Nyoni against Newcastle – the format that played could not handle/police/control the centre of the pitch – it was that simple. Look if everybody thinks they have to be a playmaker moving forward/what happens in the middle of the pitch/a big black hole that’s what happened against Newcastle/not a top side this season by any stretch of the imagination/the top sides will be ruthless and destroy us/and it will again (for season 3 be managements stupidity the underlying fault in not being smart and buying a top notch number 6).
We do need another left winger if we sell Gapko (personally I would sell him) but we do not need to pay silly money for Barcola who is not rated at PSG but supposedly worth the money of a proven sensational top drawer first starter with them…LFC are silly to even provide the second offer money…We should have been concentrating on a top notch right winger to replace the loss of Mo/indeed this is a management fault again in not providing a succession plan for when Mo would leave.
Really I cannot understand the thinking at the top of LFC/I think they have gone bonkers/where we should be strengthening we seem to ignore and rather prefer to be going down some Alice In Wonderland rabbit hole of looking to buy as a priority in areas which are painfully obvious to blind freddy not a priority/which then gets talked up by the media as some sort of market coup/BARCOLA IS NOT A MARQUEE SIGNING. YNWA.
