Arsenal could now rescue him from Barca, however, as the Sun report of the north Londoners stepping up their interest during attempts to sign his team-mate Denis Suarez.
The Sun’s report states Malcom would cost around £50m and that Arsenal could meet that asking price, which is just the kind of ambition Gooners want from their club.
The exciting 21-year-old would surely be a considerable upgrade on players like Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in attacking midfield, while Mesut Ozil has recently fallen out of favour.
