Daniel Levy branded an “idiot” by former Spurs star for allowing Mauricio Pochettino to join Chelsea

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder and TalkSport pundit Jamie O’Hara has claimed ‘it’s Daniel Levy’s fault’ for not re-appointing Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine is expected to become the new Chelsea manager with a ‘full agreement’ expected to be completed ‘soon’ according to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

Pochettino became Spurs boss back in May of 2014, he spent a total of five years in charge of the North London side until he was sacked in November of 2019 and was replaced by Jose Mourinho.

According to The Daily Star, he was willing to return to Tottenham after the sacking of Antonio Conte at the end of March.

However, according to journalist Dean Jones, Levy, the Chairman isn’t keen on the idea of bringing him back to Spurs to replace the Italian.

Mauricio Pochettino looks set to take the Chelsea job

O’Hara exclaimed his frustration with Levy on TalkSport and he believes that the ex-Spurs boss would’ve been the perfect fit.

He stated, “He’s made for Tottenham. He has unfinished business and the only reason why he’s not going back is because Daniel Levy’s an idiot and he doesn’t want to go back on old ground because they fell out when he left”.

“That’s the only reason! It’s Daniel Levy’s fault!”

It’s understandable from a Spurs perspective why some fans would be frustrated by the decision to not bring back Pochettino, a manager who is familiar with the club and was well-loved by the fans.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom just yet. There are other candidates that are potentially available to become the new manager at Tottenham.

Both Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique are both without clubs and they have respectively found success and won major trophies in Europe.

Should either of them be willing to take the managerial vacancy then you suspect that Spurs are in safe hands heading into next season

Levy is just out of touch with everyone.

  2. Tottenham Hotspur is just a small club. The Spurs fans SHOULD just agree with this fact period
