Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has explained that Amad Diallo has a minor injury that has kept him out of the starting line up for today’s FA Cup third round clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Man Utd travel to north London to take on rivals Arsenal as their new FA Cup campaign gets going, with the Red Devils looking to win the trophy again after last season’s surprise triumph over Manchester City at Wembley.

Still, it’s perhaps not ideal that Amorim doesn’t have Amad available to start this game, with the Portuguese tactician quoted by journalist Fabrizio Romano as saying the young winger has a slight fitness issue preventing him from starting…

The 22-year-old has had a really positive impact for United this season, becoming more of a key player in the first-team and taking his performances up a level since Amorim took over.

United recently lost 2-0 to Arsenal in their Premier League trip to the Emirates, so this will clearly be a difficult game and one in which you’d want your strongest team available.

Amad has recently struck big goals for MUFC, popping up to give them a late winner away to Man City in their league clash, while he also netted a late equaliser against Liverpool at Anfield last week.

The Ivory Coast international could still be a decent option off the bench today, though it remains to be seen if Amorim will risk him.

Arsenal have injury problems themselves, with Riccardo Calafiori unavailable, while Bukayo Saka is a long-term absentee and Ben White is still not back.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has also rotated slightly, resting both Declan Rice and Thomas Partey, who only make the bench this afternoon.

  1. Really missed Amad action in the first half.MU need a striker who is really good upfront in the penalty area. Ramus is still not a good striker and need more time and not worth what the MU pay for his service.Zirkzee is much better than Ramus like ball control, conneting / linking to other players. But Zirkzee is good a cameo fromn the bench. So striker is much need in MU team and the rest is quite ok but the LWB should also to loom at.
