Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer.
The 27-year-old is keen on joining the Premier League club, and he has informed the Portuguese club that he will not train with them anymore. The striker is now looking to force a move to the English club.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that ‘it’s over’ between Sporting CP and the player.
🚨❤️🤍 Viktor Gyökeres will not show up in training at Sporting today, tomorrow or at any moment this summer.

His decision is clear as reported during the week: he only wants Arsenal, it’s over with Sporting.
Gyökeres also informed Sporting president about that 5 days ago. pic.twitter.com/JARkhRGO2B
Boost for Arsenal
Gyokeres is determined to join Arsenal, and the development will come as a major boost for the English club. They are in desperate need of a quality striker, and they will hope to wrap up the move quickly. The Portuguese outfit will be under pressure to sell the player now.
Their demands have been significant, and it seems that Sporting CP will have to reduce the asking price in order for the move to go through. It is no surprise that the Portuguese outfit is unwilling to let him leave easily. He is a top-class player who has been an indispensable asset for them.
Arsenal need Viktor Gyokeres
The Swedish international scored 54 goals for the Portuguese outfit last season. There is no doubt that he could transform Arsenal in the final third if he joins the club. They need a reliable finisher. Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz have not been able to score goals consistently.
It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can finalise an agreement now.
The 27-year-old is in the prime of his career, and this is the right time for him to take up a new challenge. Arsenal could help him win the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. It is hardly a surprise that Gyokeres is desperate to join them. They are among the biggest clubs in the world, and they have been fighting for major trophies consistently.
I think he can help arsenal to win premier League
Just pay up, Arsenal spent nearly 70 million on that useless pepe a while ago. In comparison Elanga 50 m + , Nodi 52 m . Just pay up
Arsenal should stop all those drama
and sign the player. why making games! He want to play for you sign him, he will be happy and will play for the value. He will give trophies.
Yes it’s like The sporting eof sporting Lisbon Varanda is a new man in managing football club otherwise he would have known the right thing to do when a player who is the one playing the game said I wanted to leave and obey the simple rules after all Victor Gyokere is an adult who knows when to leave or stay players have the to demand to leave let those who have experienced advice that man how to handle players it’s not a forced threat to the player he doing it as if Victor Gyokere is his kid whose care is under him what is contract, contract can terminated or upgrade that is what contract is all about the contract can be terminated the management or the employee can as well terminate his contract by saying I am not going to work again contract is not a bond it is an agreement which can be disagree as well there are freedom of movement the days of slavery are gone and it forever period
