“The group didn’t change much from last season, so you can build on that,” Gakpo said.
“With Mo [Salah] and Virgil [van Dijk] staying, and hopefully Trent as well, you can keep building on that team.”
Liverpool are expected to be stronger next season
As Liverpool looks ahead, there’s a clear ambition to strengthen the squad.
They have won the Premier League but they struggled in the Champions League this season and that is what they will aim to achieve next season, success in the European competition.
The base is set for Liverpool to achieve more success in the coming seasons but a lot will depend on what they do in the summer transfer window.
All eyes will be on Alexander-Arnold in the next few weeks with the title decided now.
Keeping him at the club would be a major boost for the Reds but the delay in signing a new contract at Anfield is only pointing in one direction: he has made up his mind to leave.
